Ruby
Fighter · EXP lane
Her nearby stun can interrupt his committed combo, while her movement helps change the dagger angle.
Make it workStand close enough to peel when Gusion arrives, then chain your pull after the first interruption.
Watch outDo not chase him away from the ally you were protecting.

Hayabusa
Assassin · Jungle
Quad Shadow offers ways to leave the line of the dagger return.
Make it workKeep a usable shadow exit before approaching. Use the opening after Gusion commits, rather than spending every blink first.
Watch outThis is execution-dependent. A missed escape or an early stun can still lose the exchange.

Minsitthar

Make it workPlace the zone around the threatened teammate when Gusion closes in.
Watch outIt is an area to play around, not a map-wide ban on every form of movement.

What makes Gusion dangerous?
Gusion’s threat is a sequence: mark, approach, daggers, reset, and the return damage. Dodging one visible cast does not finish the exchange. Make room for the second half and punish him when he has actually committed.
Strengths to respect
- The ultimate refreshes his dagger sequence.
- Sword Spike gives him a way to close on a marked target.
- Returning daggers punish an opponent who stays on the same line.
Openings to exploit
- His approach gives a prepared protector a control opportunity.
- Moving targets and retained escape routes complicate his combo.
- He needs to enter dangerous range to realise much of his burst.
How to counter Gusion during a match
Before contact
Watch where the first dagger goes. If a teammate is marked, move into peel range instead of spreading so far that nobody can answer the approach.
During the combo
Change your position relative to the dagger return and hold your interruption for his arrival. Hitting the front tank while Gusion is preparing his second sequence is rarely the priority.
After the exchange
If his commitment fails, punish the opening together. If you barely survive, leave the next dagger line; remaining for one greedy attack gives him another chance.
Defensive items: buy for the actual threat
Athena’s Shield
A situational magic-defence purchase against his concentrated spell damage.
It does not erase true damage, and a fed opponent can still kill you. Check its current passive in the client.
Item context ↗Item names, passives and numbers can change. Check the current in-game tooltip and the whole enemy composition before buying.
Common mistakes against Gusion
- Assuming the first dagger volley is the whole combo.
- Spending the only escape before his reset.
- Building physical defence as the sole answer to his magic burst.
