Eudora
Mage · Mid lane
A stun and spell burst can punish Karina without relying on repeated basic attacks.
Make it workReserve the stun for her entry and combine your damage with a teammate’s.
Watch outA tankier Karina may survive. Keep a retreat route rather than assuming a solo kill.

What makes Karina dangerous?
Karina becomes frightening when a damaged team lets her collect the first finish. Her defence against basic attacks also punishes the wrong sort of duel. Keep the fight organised: make her cross a controlled space and avoid giving her a free clean-up target.
Strengths to respect
- Dance of Blades protects her against basic attacks.
- Shadow Combo adds a true-damage component against a repeated target.
- Her finishing pattern rewards access to weakened enemies.
Openings to exploit
- Skill-led damage can challenge her basic-attack defence.
- She must approach to complete her damage sequence.
- Coordinated burst and control can punish an entry before it becomes a clean-up.
How to counter Karina during a match
Before the fight
Check which teammates are already low. Let them recover or reposition before starting an objective contest that gives Karina a convenient first target.
When she enters
Make her choose between a protected carry and retreat. Hold control for her approach and use skills rather than repeatedly attacking into Dance of Blades.
If an ally falls
Reassess instead of continuing the same damage race. Back away together, cover the next threatened ally and avoid offering a second easy finish.
Defensive items: buy for the actual threat
Athena’s Shield
Helps against her magic damage, but magic defence does not remove Shadow Combo’s true-damage component.
It does not erase true damage, and a fed opponent can still kill you. Check its current passive in the client.
Item context ↗Item names, passives and numbers can change. Check the current in-game tooltip and the whole enemy composition before buying.
Common mistakes against Karina
- Attacking into Dance of Blades as though it were an ordinary duel.
- Starting a fight with several exposed low-health allies.
- Assuming one magic-defence item counters all parts of her damage.
