What makes Hayabusa dangerous?
Hayabusa wants access to one vulnerable target and a shadow route out. Running alone into open ground makes that plan simpler. Protect the approach, remember where the return route sits, and avoid wasting spells while he cannot be targeted.
Strengths to respect
- Quad Shadow supplies both an entry and a retreat.
- Marks support his single-target finishing sequence.
- Shadow Kill gives him an untargetable damage window.
Openings to exploit
- A prepared catch can punish his entry or return.
- Extra eligible targets can complicate a clean isolated ultimate.
- Losing track of his retreat is often more dangerous than losing sight of his current position.
How to counter Hayabusa during a match
On a side lane
Avoid extending alone when he is missing. Keep an exit towards teammates and make him show before you take the next exposed wave.
When shadows appear
Note the likely return position. Communicate it so your team can cover the exit rather than following only the first dash.
During Shadow Kill
Protect the expected reappearance and avoid throwing targeted skills at an unavailable target. Nearby units may change damage distribution, but marks mean clustering is not guaranteed safety.
Defensive items: buy for the actual threat
Antique Cuirass
A possible physical-defence choice against his skill-led burst, depending on your hero’s role.
A defensive option for heroes who can afford it; it does not prevent crowd control or magic damage.

Common mistakes against Hayabusa
- Offering an isolated target with no escape plan.
- Forgetting where the return shadow is.
- Treating another nearby unit as guaranteed protection from every ultimate hit.
