Paquito
Fighter / Assassin · EXP lane
Burst exchanges give Paquito a way to contest Chou’s lane instead of accepting every short trade.
Make it workLook for a prepared exchange, then disengage before you are drawn into a bad kick angle.
Watch outBoth heroes reward execution. Winning a draft matchup does not win every combo exchange.

What makes Chou dangerous?
Chou does not need to win a long duel to win a fight. Moving your carry towards his team can be enough. Judge the space behind you as carefully as the distance in front, and force him to spend movement before committing your own control.
Strengths to respect
- Knock-up and displacement can isolate a valuable target.
- Shunpo provides a defensive timing window.
- Flexible builds let him threaten picks in different ways.
Openings to exploit
- The useful kick angle depends on positioning and follow-up.
- Repeated safe trades can be better than one impatient all-in.
- A held defensive response can challenge his commitment.
How to counter Chou during a match
In the lane
Identify his build and trading pattern before choosing a long fight. Keep the wave and your retreat angle in mind, especially when his team is missing.
While grouping
Do not give him an isolated carry on the outer edge of the team. Keep a protector in response range and avoid a straight path towards the enemy damage dealers.
When he approaches
Watch for movement used to create a kick angle. Hold your control until it can connect, then respond together rather than letting a second player chase into the same trap.
Defensive items: buy for the actual threat
Antique Cuirass
Physical defence can help against a damage-led Chou, but cannot cancel the displacement or an enemy mage’s follow-up.
A defensive option for heroes who can afford it; it does not prevent crowd control or magic damage.
Item context ↗Item names, passives and numbers can change. Check the current in-game tooltip and the whole enemy composition before buying.
Common mistakes against Chou
- Ignoring the destination of a potential kick.
- Assuming tank items make every teammate safe from his utility.
- Spending control into his protected movement window.
