Minsitthar MLBB Guide: The King Who Outlawed Dashing (Season 42)
Fanny can't cable. Lancelot can't dash. Flicker itself goes dead. Minsitthar's cage deletes the game's favourite verb — here's the full kit, the on-hit build, and the draft test that decides if he's a genius pick or a wasted one.
Why he's feared (and loved)
Lord pit, minute twelve. Their Lancelot does what Lancelots do: Phantom Execution through my frontline, one health bar from the steal, already spending the gold in his head. Then the horn sounds. King's Calling lands under him, four Royal Guards rise, and the most mobile hero in the game is a man standing in a field with his dash button greyed out. He can't dash. He can't Flicker. My guards hit him, Phalanx basics stack marks across his chest, and my marksman shoots him like a training dummy with a god complex.
That is Minsitthar, the Courageous Warrior, king of Mahar Pura — based on Myanmar's real King Kyansittha; first hero with Burmese voice lines (Fandom trivia). He is feared because his ultimate doesn't outplay the mobility meta, it *outlaws* it: inside King's Calling every dash, blink and charge stops working — even Purify can't lift the grounding in there. He is loved because he is justice with a spear — the pick that makes Fanny players queue-dodge. The catch is on the same tin: the cage denies movement, not damage. Into a comp that never needed to move, he's a jailer with no prisoners.
Season 42 viability: the honest read
- MLBBHub (checked 21 October 2026): 51.6% win rate, 0.6% pick rate, 4.7% ban rate. FAQ counters: Natalia, Yin, X.Borg.
- MLBBDex (tier list, patch 2.2.16, updated 19 October 2026): S tier — 51.8% win rate, 0.6% pick, 4.8% ban, filed EXP Lane · Roam.
- MLBB.io (data updated 20 October 2026): A tier, risen from B — 51.68% win rate, 0.65% pick, 4.81% ban.
The chorus: 51.6–51.8% win rate, ~0.6% pick, ~4.7–4.8% ban — eight bans for every pick, because nobody wants to find mid-draft that their carry can't leave. Patch honesty: no change in Patch 2.2.16 — absent from the verified adjustment list, and I read blooing's complete roundup end to end (revamps, buffs, nerfs, tweaks, Classic pass, both Brawl columns): his name never appears. The documented 2.2.16a list (14 Oct 2026: Kalea buff; Aulus, Hirara, Eudora, Rafaela nerfs) has no Minsitthar either, and that patch has no Fandom page — any 2.2.16a Minsitthar claim is [UNCONFIRMED], as is an Advanced Server 2.2.26 stat note from a test-server mode table. His last documented changes are old: the 22 March 2023 revamp rebuilt him wholesale (Fandom), and the newest specific touch in patch coverage is a 1.8.30-era buff letting him cast other skills while Spear of Glory retracts (ONE Esports).
My tier verdict: A-. S-tier paperwork on MLBBDex, A on MLBB.io, an 8x ban-to-pick ratio. The minus is the condition, and MLBBHub states it as a test: if you cannot name two enemy heroes whose entire escape plan is a movement skill before the draft ends, Minsitthar is the wrong pick for that game.
The full kit: what every button does
All mechanics from the MLBB Fandom hero page, checked 21 October 2026. Base HP 2698→5470, mana 500→1900, Physical Attack 121→250, Movement Speed 260, basic range 1.8. Moonton's ratings (via MLBB.io): Offense 4, Durability 6, Control Effects 8, Difficulty 3 — the Control 8 is the hero. Stale-text warning: the gold-from-kills passive in older guides was All United — deleted in the 2023 revamp. The live passive:
- Passive — Mark of the King: basics and skills apply a Mark of the King stack, up to 5; at max stacks his next attack detonates them: 400 (+6% Total HP) Physical Damage, a 0.8s stun, and heals him 400 (+6% Total HP). Once every 6 seconds per target. The detonation counts as skill damage (triggers Brave Smite); the stun fires when he *attacks* a target already carrying 5 marks — the fifth mark itself pops nothing.
- Skill 1 — Spear of Glory: a thrust for 175–300 (+40% Total Physical Attack) and a 30% slow; enemy heroes caught by the tip are stunned for 0.6s. The spear then retracts, dealing another 175–300 (+40% Total Physical Attack) along the path and dragging enemy heroes hit to him. Cooldown 13.0→9.0s. The pull drags targets to his *current* position, and Fandom's notes confirm tip-stunned enemies pull from any distance, and the pull can be cancelled into King's Calling or Shield Assault if queued — the tech behind sideways and Flicker-extended pulls.
- Skill 2 — Shield Assault: a blast for 100–200 (+45% Total Physical Attack) and an 80% slow decaying over 2 seconds, then Phalanx state for 3 seconds: front damage reduced 25–50%, and his basics become fast area strikes (range 5.0) for 100–200 (+45% Total Physical Attack) per hit. Cooldown 7.0→5.0s. He cannot change facing during Phalanx, casting another skill ends it, the enhanced basics hit turrets — and Fandom warns stacked PA eventually makes plain basics out-damage them.
- Ultimate — King's Calling: he blinks forward (Fandom: the cast technically blinks, despite the "charges" description) and summons 4 Royal Guards for 5 seconds — invincible, immobile, each attack dealing (+40% Total Physical Attack) Physical Damage, applies one Mark of the King, and triggers 40% of his attack effects — about one attack every 0.93s, five hits each; Golden Staff procs apply triple marks. Enemies inside are slowed 20% and cannot use movement skills — per Fandom, Purify and CC immunity do not free you inside — the only escapes are walking out, or a movement skill already mid-cast when the field landed (a Lancelot charge, a Benedetta Alecto). Cooldown 60/55/50s. Trivia: one of only two dash/blink-disablers in the game — Obsidia's tether is the other.
Skill priority, my way: King's Calling at 4/8/12. Max Shield Assault first — clear, trade and mark engine on the shortest cooldown. Spear of Glory second — 13.0→9.0s turns the collect into a habit. First point: Shield Assault — MLBBHub's laning guide agrees.
Combos
- The collect: Spear of Glory with the tip on them (0.6s stun) → the retract drags them into your face → Shield Assault → Phalanx basics fan across them until the fifth mark detonates: stun, burst, heal. The whole lane trade starts with the *tip*, not the shaft.
- The cage, in the right order: Shield Assault first, Phalanx up, marks stacking — and hold King's Calling until the carry spends their movement skill. *Then* drop the field on their current position (MLBBHub's sequence — the difference between a cage and a decoration). Stay inside it: the guards and your marks only work there.
- The long pull: cast Spear of Glory, then Flicker — or cancel into King's Calling's blink — during the retract window. The pull delivers the target to where you *end up*, not where you started: into your whole team (Fandom-documented tech).
Rotation and map control
EXP lane is home — MLBBHub, MLBBDex and MLBB.io all file him there first. His lane is a held breath: clear and trade with Shield Assault (the Phalanx fan clears the wave), unlock Spear of Glory at level 2 — then *don't throw it*: a 13-second cooldown at rank 1, his only collect, a laner who has seen it whiff owns the next thirteen seconds. Level 4 is the first true kill window — a laner pinned near a wall or turret has nowhere for the cage to be escaped *to* (MLBBHub): call the jungler at four, not before.
His spike is item-shaped: Corrosion Scythe + Demon Hunter Sword, ~minutes 8–10 (MLBBHub) — when the guards stop being statues and start applying his on-hit items inside the field. After it: objective custody — arrive early, stand where the fight has to happen, and make the enemy choose: contest inside a grounding field, or concede. The field even outlives him — die in the trade and it stays up, guards swinging (MLBBHub). Split-pushing is not his ministry; he takes towers with Phalanx basics (they hit turrets) on a crashed wave, then walks back to the fence. The roam version trades damage for durability — Tank emblem, Flicker, pure cage delivery (MLBBHub). Either way, draft him *with* a carry who loves a stationary target: MLBBHub's measured synergies are Melissa and Hanabi, whose damage climbs the second nobody can leave.
Best build, emblem, and battle spell (Season 42)
The core: Tough Boots → Corrosion Scythe → Demon Hunter Sword → Golden Staff. MLBBHub locks those three — skipping one is an admission you drafted the wrong hero; a second desk (mobageek) opens with the same spine. The logic: damage runs through Mark detonations, marks run on swing rate, and the guards inherit his attack effects at 40% strength, so every on-hit item is bought twice — for him, and for the cage (MLBBHub; ONE Esports notes the same inheritance). Flex (MLBBHub): Thunder Belt (durability), Sea Halberd into healing/shield comps, Rose Gold Meteor against mage burst, Immortality to make the first cage a fight, not a funeral. The named trap: building like the old Minsitthar — defense with no attack speed leaves the stack engine idle (MLBBHub's first build mistake).
Emblem: a genuine split, printed both ways. MLBBHub defaults to Marksman — Swift / Weapon Master / War Cry for the EXP damage build. MLBB.io's tracked builds split differently: Fighter in 3 of 6, Swift and Weakness Finder tracked (4 of 6 each). MLBBHub's variants agree on the fork: Fighter (Firmness / Festival of Blood / Brave Smite) to frontline, Tank to roam. My call: Marksman for standard EXP — the detonation is the damage, and swing rate is the detonation.
Battle spell: Flicker, with an asterisk. It sits in 100% of MLBB.io's tracked builds and is load-bearing tech, not an escape. MLBBHub defaults to Inspire on the damage build — timed with Phalanx it fills five marks inside one cage window — and moves Flicker to the frontline and roam builds. My call: Flicker, unless the draft is already won.
How to counter him
The measured podium agrees across desks. Natalia and Yin top all of them: MLBBHub's FAQ names Natalia, Yin and X.Borg; MLBBDex calls Natalia and Yin "his most difficult opponents by measurement," and MLBB.io's FAQ lists Natalia, Karina and Yin. MLCounter's older table concurs — weak against Martis, Yin, Grock, Akai and Natalia.
Three reasons. The dimension thief: Yin's ultimate drags his victim into a private dimension and King's Calling does not follow — the caged fight stops existing (MLBBHub). The stat-checkers: Aulus, X.Borg and Yu Zhong beat him in lane on MLBBHub's data because the cage denies mobility, not trades; all three happily stand inside it and out-brawl Phalanx's window. The shove: Akai's Heavy Spin pushes him out of his own field, away from his guards (ONE Esports; MLCounter agrees),
The anti-playbook is patience: field 5 seconds, cooldown 60 seconds at rank 1. Bait the cage, walk out — walking still works — and fight during the longest minute in his life. Items: Dominance Ice (ONE Esports) cuts his attack speed and his detonation healing in one slot — the whole engine.
Who he eats is the mirror image, measured: on MLCounter's table Lancelot wins just 41% into him (145 games), Paquito 46% (456), Joy 49% (890), and Guinevere — whose whole kit is one leap — 42% (125 games). Its strong-against list adds the immobile: Aurora, Layla, Miya, Tigreal, Cyclops. MLBBHub's Fanny breakdown: inside the field she cannot use Steel Cable, full stop. If your survival plan has a dash in it, he is not a matchup. He is a verdict.
Mistakes everyone makes
- "The Early Cage": opening the fight with King's Calling the moment an enemy enters range (MLBBHub's most common Minsitthar mistake). Their dash is still up; they spend it, the field holds air, and your 60-second ultimate bought a 20% slow. Cage the *aftermath* of the dash, never its possibility.
- "The Friendly Pull": Spear of Glory into Aulus, X.Borg or Yu Zhong — heroes who *want* to be delivered into melee range (MLBBHub). The pull is a collect for targets who need distance to live.
- "The Poke Spear": throwing Spear of Glory on cooldown for lane chip (MLBBHub). It only teaches the enemy where the tip's stun edge ends. Held, its threat zones more than its damage would.
- "The Chaser": stepping out of his own field to chase a kill to its edge (MLBBHub). The guards stop attacking, the stacks stop, the cage becomes scenery. Hold the centre; let the field do the chasing.
- "The Old King's Build": itemising like the pre-revamp Minsitthar — defense first, no attack speed (MLBBHub). The current hero's damage *is* his swing rate. Build him like a wall, get a wall: durable, slow, detonating nothing.
FAQ
- Did Patch 2.2.16 change Minsitthar? No — absent from the verified adjustment list and from blooing's complete roundup, every column. The 2.2.16a list has no Minsitthar either; contrary claims are [UNCONFIRMED]. His kit is the March 2023 revamp's; last documented touch: a 1.8.30-era cancel-window buff.
- Can Purify get me out of King's Calling? No — the most misunderstood line in his kit. Fandom: Purify and crowd-control immunity do not free you from the grounding inside the field. Escapes: walk out, or be mid-cast on a movement skill when it lands.
- EXP lane or roam? EXP by default — every current desk files him there first. Roam is a real second school (both desks list it): Tank emblem, Flicker, cage delivery over damage.
- Flicker or Inspire? Flicker — in 100% of MLBB.io's tracked builds, and it powers the pull-drag and cage repositioning. Inspire is MLBBHub's damage-build default, for five marks inside one cage window. Greed versus placement; placement usually wins.
- Why is he banned eight times more than he's picked? Because the ban isn't for him — it's insurance: dash players paying draft tax so their escape survives the loading screen.
Final verdict
Minsitthar is not a hero, he is a rule change with a health bar. For five seconds, in one circle, the game's most sacred verb — *dash* — stops conjugating, and every assassin who built a career on leaving has to stand there and be a person. The numbers (51.6–51.8%, S on one desk, A on another) average in the drafts he should never have survived: the stand-still comps, the Yin lobbies. Picked on purpose — two dash-dependent enemies, a carry who farms stationary targets, a team that fights where the fence goes up — he is the cheapest full-stop in Mobile Legends. The king doesn't chase anyone. He just makes leaving illegal.
Play him if: the enemy draft shows two or more heroes whose survival is a dash or blink, your marksman profits from targets that can't leave, and you'll hold the ultimate until the escape is spent.
Skip him if: the enemy comp stands still and stat-checks (Aulus, X.Borg, Yu Zhong), a Yin is hovering, or your team won't fight inside the field — a cage your own team abandons is just outdoor furniture.
