Kimmy MLBB Guide: Walk One Way, Shoot the Other (Season 42)

A 48.7% win rate hiding a draft weapon: piercing spray that goes through the frontline, a jetpack escape, and a pull that stacks whole teams into one point. The revamped Kimmy, Season 42.

Why she's feared (and loved)

The Turtle fight starts the way they always start: the enemy front line walks in as one wall, tank first, everyone important behind him. Kimmy doesn't stop it. She strafes sideways along the river, hosing the tank — walking one way, shooting the other. Her Starlium meter fills off his chest. Then it's full, and the spray changes: it goes *through* him, piercing in a line, and the mage who felt safe behind all that armour melts from a gun aimed at somebody else. Somebody clusters at the pit entrance. That's when the Traction Pulse lands — a force field, a one-second wait, and the whole clump is dragged into one point, where a Starlium Beam pins it. That is Kimmy, the Hoverjet Outrider: an Eruditio general's daughter and Beatrix's best friend, flying her own Starlium-powered Hoverjet Blaster (Fandom's story).

Feared, because at full meter she is the one carry whose damage ignores the concept of a front line, and her ultimate rearranges teamfights like furniture. Loved, because aiming and moving on two sticks at once makes every other marksman feel like they're shooting from a wheelchair. The catch is in her passive: no lock-on, one short flight for an escape, and half her power in a meter that empties if you play her lazy.

Season 42 viability: the honest read

Patch paperwork first: Patch 2.2.16 (16 September 2026) did not touch Kimmy — not on the verified adjustment list, and blooing's full roundup, read end to end, never mentions her. Patch 2.2.16a (14 Oct 2026): the documented list (Kalea buff; Aulus, Hirara, Eudora, Rafaela nerfs) has no Kimmy — "secret tweak" claims stay [UNCONFIRMED]. Her real patch story is older and total: a full revamp in Patch 1.9.68 (April 2025) deleted Chemist's Instinct, Energy Transformation, Chemical Refinement, Maximum Charge and the chemical-energy bar, replaced by the Starlium kit below. Stale guides — MLCounter, Zathong — still teach the deleted skills by name; if a Kimmy guide mentions "energy transformation," close the tab. One honest discrepancy: revamp-day coverage (GosuGamers) printed the pull at 20–40% of current HP; Fandom's live table prints 15% / 22.5% / 30% — a trim landed later (BitTopup: "post-nerf CC pull"), undocumented by any dated note; the live table governs.

The trackers, dated (community snapshots, not Moonton figures): - MLBBHub (refreshed daily; checked 21 Oct 2026): 48.7% win rate, 0.8% pick, 0.5% ban. - MLBBDex (tier list updated 19 Oct 2026, patch 2.2.16): B tier — 48.5% win rate, 0.8% pick, 0.6% ban, Mid and Gold. - MLBB.io (data updated 20 Oct 2026): C tier (dropped from B) — 48.9% win rate, 0.8% pick. - Pocket Gamer (October 2026, editorial): D tier among Marksmen — the harshest desk in the room. - MLCounter (page updated 15 Sep 2026): 53.78% and an A from an older dataset — the figure Zathong mirrors, on a page still teaching the retired kit. Noted, not averaged in.

The chorus: 48.5–48.9% win rate everywhere current, on a 0.8% pick rate nobody bans. Sentiment: no fresh r/MobileLegendsGame Kimmy threads surfaced — tracker and creator material only, and the creators agree with the desks: a draft weapon, not a comfort pick. My tier verdict: B-. The minus is the draft tax: two tiers above that letter into walk-in comps; exactly the 48.5% spreadsheet hero into two divers or an outrange mage.

The full kit: what every button does

All mechanics from the MLBB Fandom hero page, checked 21 October 2026. Base HP 2450→4095, HP regen 8→11.2, Physical Attack 90→216, Physical Defense 22→69, Magic Defense 15→45, Attack Speed 1.00 flat, Movement Speed 245 — and no mana pool at all: her resource is the Starlium meter. Moonton's official ratings (via MLBB.io): Offense 8, Durability 3, Control Effects 5, Difficulty 6. Title: Hoverjet Outrider — "Splat Queen" retired with the old kit in 1.9.68. - Passive — Aerial Dominance: Kimmy aims and moves in different directions while firing — she never stops moving to shoot — but cannot lock onto a specific enemy and cannot use Manual Targeting. The spray deals (+22% Total Physical Attack)(+27% Total Magic Power) Magic Damage. Hitting enemy heroes restores 6 Starlium (3 from non-hero units); gain none for 7 seconds and the meter starts to deplete. At max Starlium her basics are enhanced — (+27% Total Physical Attack)(+32% Total Magic Power) — and pierce through targets. The conversion law every build obeys: she gains nothing from Attack Speed; every 1% converts into 1 Magic Power. Basics deal reduced turret damage too (60%, per the revamp notes) — she clears waves instead of eating towers. - Skill 1 — Anti-Grav Thruster: Her jetpack: removes slows and makes her immune to them, passes through terrain, +90% Movement Speed for 1 second. In flight she fires 4 Chemical Bolts at nearby enemies, each 20–45 (+25% Total Physical Attack)(+30% Total Magic Power) Magic Damage, slowing 50% for 0.5 seconds — and spends no Starlium while flying (revamp coverage). Cooldown 14.0→9.0s. Her only gap-crosser: an escape tool, never an engage button. - Skill 2 — Starlium Beam: A beam in the target direction: immobilizes enemies in its path, deals 300–600 (+50% Total Physical Attack)(+60% Total Magic Power) Magic Damage, and gains 20 Starlium per enemy hero hit (40 at max rank, per the level table). Cooldown 10.0→8.0s. Setup and refill in one cast. - Ultimate — Traction Pulse: Kimmy charges (holdable 3 seconds) and fires in the target direction. On hit or max range it explodes for 200–400 (+60% Total Physical Attack)(+72% Total Magic Power) Magic Damage and leaves a force field slowing enemies inside by 75%. After 1 second the field contracts, pulling all enemy heroes to its center and dealing 15% / 22.5% / 30% of their current HP as Magic Damage by ult rank. +40 Starlium per enemy hero hit; cooldown 40/35/30s, starting on cast. Fine print: the HP-based hit does not trigger Wishing Lantern's passive. A fight starter, not a finisher — see Combos.

Skill priority, my way: ultimate at 4/8/12, Starlium Beam first (damage and refund both double across ranks; the immobilize is her only hard control), Anti-Grav Thruster second — its cooldown *is* her survival. Take the Beam at level 1.

Combos

  • "The Pit Pull" (the teamfight script): Traction Pulse onto a grouped enemy or the geometry they must defend — Turtle pit, Lord entrance — then Starlium Beam through the pile as the field contracts: the immobilize lands on targets the pull just stacked, and the spray pierces the line behind them. The ult *starts* fights; the beam and spray close them (MLBBHub).
  • "The Refill Trade" (lane pressure): spray the wave to a full meter, let the piercing volley clear it, then Starlium Beam through it into the enemy mid — immobilize, damage, 20–40 Starlium straight back. Pressure that pays for itself.
  • "The Fly-By" (the escape that bites): Anti-Grav Thruster over the wall the diver can't cross — the Chemical Bolts slow the chase 50% while you leave — land, and fire Starlium Beam backward into the chokepoint they must funnel through. Running away still deals damage.

Rotation and map control

Mid Lane is home on every current tracker (MLBBHub files her there; MLBBDex lists Mid and Gold; her Gold era was Season 40). The first seven minutes are meter discipline, not kill hunting: fill Starlium on the wave, trade with piercing volleys and the beam, reach the two-item spike with your tower intact and the enemy mid too low to rotate (MLBBHub's laning notes). The jetpack belongs to the jungle, not the wave — vault it from the river into side bushes, or out of a collapsing gank; spend it chasing at level 4 and the first dive lands on a carry with no escape.

The mid game runs on one checkpoint: Feather of Heaven + Concentrated Energy, online around 8–10 minutes (MLBBHub). Before it: poke, a pull and a prayer. After it, the spray deletes waves and front lines in one motion — arrive at objectives with a *full* meter, never half-empty. Towers are her honest weakness (reduced turret damage, per the kit): she wins by clearing and rotating. Never solo-push while both enemy divers are off the map.

Best build, emblem, and battle spell (Season 42)

The locked core (MLBBHub's current guide): Arcane Boots → Feather of Heaven → Concentrated Energy. Feather looks wrong until you read the passive: its Attack Speed converts 1:1 into Magic Power — a Magic Power item in an Attack Speed costume — and Concentrated Energy stacks more power behind a damage multiplier. Revamp-era coverage agrees (GosuGamers spikes her mid game on Feather). Flex by trigger (MLBBHub): Holy Crystal vs squishy drafts; Divine Glaive once magic resistance stacks; Genius Wand vs a beefy front line (spray reapplies its shred free); Glowing Wand vs heal/shield comps; Ice Queen Wand to kite melee; Blood Wings, her only real defense; Winter Crown, the panic button vs Saber, Hayabusa, Ling. Boots fork: Tough Boots when 2+ stun-heavy threats make Purify alone not enough. Emblem: Mage — Rupture / Weapon Master / Lethal Ignition (MLBBHub). MLBB.io's tracked top builds (small sample: four builds) also run Mage in three of four — with Bargain Hunter and Weakness Finder slotted: a second school on thinner data. Battle spell — an honest split. Guide school defaults to Sprint — its slow immunity stacks with the flight's slow-cleanse (MLBBHub); Purify answers chain-lock drafts. MLBB.io's tracked builds lean Flicker (two of four). My take: Sprint, unless the draft stuns you twice in one dive. Retired-build warning: anything physical — Berserker's Fury, Haas's Claws, the "physical DPS" build Zathong still prints — belongs to the deleted kit. Her spray deals Magic Damage now; crit on-hits don't feed it. If the build doesn't start with Arcane Boots and Feather of Heaven, it's teaching 2024.

How to counter her

Two daily desks agree on the measured trio: Karina, Lolita and Fanny (MLBBHub; MLBB.io lists the identical three). Karina's magic-immunity frames and true damage delete a carry with one escape on a 9–14s clock; Fanny crosses spray range on cables; Lolita is the hard counter — her shield eats the spray and returns it to sender (MLBBHub). MLCounter's matchup table (own dataset — direction, not gospel) prices the wider school: Kimmy wins just 42% vs Hayabusa (578 games), 47% vs Lancelot (236), 48% vs Lolita (568), 49% vs Chou (508) — and 46% vs Kadita (325, from Kadita's side of the table). - Draft two gap-crossers. MLBBHub's rule: two or more of Hayabusa, Lancelot, Ling, Fanny, Karina, Natalia, Chou, Saber and Benedetta, and her one flight can't cover both dives. - Outrange her. Pharsa, Yve and Novaria poke from beyond spray range entirely (MLBBHub) — she must walk into their zone to trade at all. - Items and anti-play: magic defense first — Athena's Shield, Radiant Armor (MLCounter). Blade Armor answers only the *retired* physical build; vs the magic spray it's a wasted slot. Jump her when the meter sits low — no piercing, weaker scaling — and never chase her in a straight line: she shoots backward as happily as forward.

Who she counters is the mirror image: front lines that must walk at her. MLBBHub lists Hylos, Gloo, Esmeralda, Edith, Yu Zhong as food, plus slow poke mages Cecilion, Vale, Valir, Luo Yi; MLCounter backs the headline — Hylos 58% (425 games), Vale 57% (349), Moskov 54% (560), Valir 51% (532). One honest split: MLCounter has her *losing* to Thamuz (43%, 359) where Hub's desk files him as food. Trust the trend, argue the exception.

Mistakes everyone makes

  • "The Flick Aim": snapping the aim stick at every target. Her shots land on a delay after a direction change — flicking wastes damage. Pre-aim; strafe in gentle lines (MLBBHub).
  • "The Empty-Meter Entrance": walking into a fight at half Starlium — no piercing, weaker scaling, half a hero. Fill it on the wave first (MLBBHub).
  • "The Jetpack Engage": spending Anti-Grav Thruster to chase or to open. It's her only gap-crosser; the dive that lands while it's down is a free kill (MLBBHub).
  • "The Finisher Delusion": holding Traction Pulse to snipe a fleeing low-HP target. The pull deals % of *current* HP — least exactly then. A starter, not a closer (MLBBHub).
  • "The Statue": standing still to aim — the rookie tell. Her whole passive is moving and shooting in two directions at once; a stationary Kimmy is a 3-Durability mage waiting for the assassin.
  • "The 2024 Build": following a stale guide into Attack Speed, crit or the physical build. That kit died in Patch 1.9.68; the conversion law is in the passive, in writing.

FAQ

  • Is Kimmy a marksman or a mage now? Both on paper — but since the revamp she plays as a magic carry: spray and skills deal Magic Damage, the build is pure Magic Power, and trackers file her Mid first, Gold second (MLBBHub; MLBBDex).
  • Why doesn't Attack Speed work on her? It converts instead: every 1% Attack Speed becomes 1 Magic Power (Fandom's passive text). Feather of Heaven is core because of the conversion, not the swing speed.
  • Where did Energy Transformation and Maximum Charge go? Deleted in the Patch 1.9.68 revamp (April 2025). Guides still teaching them teach a hero who no longer exists.
  • Sprint or Flicker? Sprint is the guide-school default — its slow immunity stacks with the flight's cleanse; Purify answers chain-lock drafts (MLBBHub). MLBB.io's tracked builds lean Flicker, on a tiny sample.
  • Why is she so slow at taking towers? Her basics deal 60% damage to turrets (revamp notes). Clear the wave, let minions hit the tower, rotate.

Final verdict

Kimmy is a B- hero holding an S-tier answer. The spreadsheet says 48.5–48.9% because most drafts throw her into divers and artillery mages and ask her to be a normal marksman; she isn't one. She's a zone-control carry whose spray deletes the walk-in game plan itself — front line, the back line behind it, and a pull that stacks the survivors into one beam-shaped mistake. Pick her on purpose and she's the most miserable opponent in the lobby. Pick her blind and the lobby returns the favour.

Play her if: the enemy draft walks at you — tank-plus-fighter front lines, slow poke mages, grouped objective fights — and you enjoy aiming and moving on two sticks at once.

Skip her if: the enemy shows two gap-crossing divers, a Lolita, or a Pharsa/Yve/Novaria outrange pick — or your team needs a tower-eater. That job she cannot do.
