Ixia MLBB Guide: Plant Your Feet, Own the Cone (Season 42)

A 50.0% win rate on the marksman who roots herself to fire — Ixia, honestly: the Siphon math, the two-item spike, and the cone that only works behind a real frontline.

Why she's feared (and loved)

Minute fifteen, Lord at half health, and I do the thing that still feels illegal: I walk two steps behind my Tigreal, take my gun apart into six smaller guns, and just… stop moving. For four seconds I am a building. Everything inside the fan in front of me gets shot — all of it, heroes first — and every third hit on a marked target pays me back in health like the fight is a vending machine. The enemy frontline walks in proud and melts in place, because walking out means turning their backs to my entire team.

That is Ixia, the Arclight Outlaw: a turret that farms. She has no dash. Not a small dash, not a conditional dash — none, anywhere in the kit. Her only "mobility" is a speed burst she earns by tagging you with a beam. What she has instead is area: she is a marksman built like a zone-control mage, the only one whose ordinary basics cannot trigger Lifesteal at all, and the first hero in the game whose damage scales with the Lifesteal stat itself. Play her like a normal right-click carry and she feels broken in the bad way. Plant her behind a real frontline, in a fight the enemy has to walk into, and she is the rudest four seconds in Mobile Legends.

Season 42 viability: the honest read

First, the patch paperwork. Ixia got NO change in Patch 2.2.16 (16 Sep 2026): she is not on the verified adjustment list, and blooing's complete 2.2.16 roundup — read end to end, ranked, Classic and Brawl columns included — never mentions her. Patch 2.2.16a (14 Oct 2026) has no Fandom page, and its documented list (Kalea buff; Aulus, Hirara, Eudora, Rafaela nerfs) has no Ixia either; any claim she was touched there is [UNCONFIRMED]. Her last hero-specific documented change is old: Patch 1.8.20 buffed Full Barrage (cast range 9 → 11, Siphon Starlium now fires alongside basics during the ult, cooldown 48–40s → 54–42s, duration 5s → 4s) — Fandom's patch notes, and her live page still cites 1.8.20 for that cast range. One paperwork trap: Patch 1.8.66's marksman-wide attribute pass printed her base HP 2620 → 2320 and attack growth 7.5 → 8.5 (Fandom patch notes / ONE Esports), but her live Fandom page and MLBB.io both still print the pre-pass numbers today — the live tables govern, so that pass evidently didn't stick.

  • MLBBHub (Season 42, refreshed daily, checked 21 Oct 2026): 50.0% win rate, 0.7% pick, 0.7% ban; its measured biggest counters are Wanwan, Hanzo and Natalia.
  • MLBBDex (tier list updated Oct 2026, patch 2.2.16): B tier — 50.0% win rate, 0.7% pick, 0.8% ban in Gold Lane.
  • MLBB.io (checked 21 Oct 2026): B tier, 49.9% win rate, 0.8% pick; counters listed as Wanwan, Kadita, Hanzo.
  • MLCounter (older sample, page updated Aug 2026): 48.02% win rate with an S tier label — stale paperwork; I note it, I don't average it in.

The fresh chorus sings one note: 49.9–50.0% win rate, almost nobody banning her, almost nobody picking her. The hero isn't weak — the draft around her usually is.

My tier verdict: B+. B paperwork, A-grade ceiling the moment your team gives her a wall to stand behind and the enemy comp has to walk forward.

The full kit: what every button does

All mechanics from the MLBB Fandom hero page, checked 21 October 2026. Base HP 2620 (→ 4699 at level 15), Physical Attack 100, Mana 500 → 1900, Movement Speed 240, basic attack range 5. Moonton's official ratings (via MLBB.io): Offense 7 / Durability 3 / Control 5 / Difficulty 4.

  • Passive — Siphon Starlium: Her basics and skills apply a stack of Starlium Charge on hit — stacks last 5 seconds, count as a debuff (Purify strips them), and can't be applied to turrets. When she basics a target holding 2 stacks, the attack consumes them and becomes Siphon Starlium: (+150% Total Physical Attack)(+200 × Lifesteal) + (+10 × Hero Level) Physical Damage, and she heals for the full damage dealt — only 20 (+100 × Lifesteal)% of it against non-heroes. It triggers on EVERY 2-stack enemy in front of her within basic range at once. It cannot crit. And the fine print that defines her: her ordinary basic attacks cannot trigger Lifesteal — this passive is her entire sustain engine.
  • Skill 1 — Dual Beam: Two Starlium beams rake the ground in a rectangle: 175–300 (+80% Total Physical Attack), slowing enemy heroes by 40% (Fandom's prose prints 120–225; its own level table says 175–300 — the table governs). Tagging an enemy hero refunds her 40% Movement Speed for 3s — her only repositioning tool. Enemies clipped by both beams take double damage. Cooldown 8.0 → 4.0s.
  • Skill 2 — Star Helix: A canister that knocks back nearby enemies, then after roughly 0.5s pulls everyone in range to its centre line for 200–300 (+60% Total Physical Attack); both effects carry a 0.1s stun. Cooldown 11.0 → 9.0s. (Older guides call this "Fan of Starlium" — that name is dead; it's Star Helix, and it's her one peel button.)
  • Ultimate — Full Barrage: She disassembles her weapon into 6 smaller ones and enters Barrage for 4s. Inside it, her basics and skills hit everything in a large fan (cast range 11) and nothing outside it; basics strike up to 6 enemy units, heroes prioritised, and Siphon Starlium fires simultaneously with her normal basics. The fan reveals enemies standing in it. She cannot move, cannot target turrets — and only Suppression can interrupt it. Cooldown 54/48/42s.

Skill priority, my way: Dual Beam first and maxed — at max rank it's a 4.0s cooldown, and it is her entire lane. Full Barrage at 4/8/12. Star Helix last: it's peel, and peel doesn't need damage ranks to save your life.

Combos

  • The lane trade: Dual Beam through the wave so both beams clip the enemy marksman mid-last-hit, take the 40% speed burst, step in for two basics — that's two stacks — and let the third basic land as the Siphon. You heal, they don't, you leave before the return trade assembles. Miss the hero with the beams? Abort. The speed is what makes the pattern safe.
  • Peel-and-delete: A diver commits → Star Helix point-blank (the knockback buys the half-second, the pull drags them back onto the centre line) → Dual Beam straight down that line → basics until the Siphon pops. Never reverse this order; Helix is the only version of this fight you survive.
  • The fight-winner: Your frontline starts it, not you. Star Helix to bunch the enemy onto one line, then Full Barrage from behind your tanks — and keep firing Dual Beam inside the Barrage, because skills work in there and Siphon procs ride along with every basic. If the fight slides sideways, Flicker mid-Barrage re-angles the whole cone (ONE Esports' party trick, and yes, it's real).
  • Objective lock: Plant at the pit mouth so the cone covers the exit, not the entrance. Enemies tolerate walking in. They panic when the way out disappears.

Rotation and map control

Farm like the turret you are. Her spike is item-based, not kill-based (MLBBHub's framing, and it's correct): gold lane, plates when they're free, zero ego duels. The appointment is boots plus Corrosion Scythe plus Demon Hunter Sword by roughly minute 9–11 — arriving thirty seconds late with both items beats arriving on time with one and a dream.

In fights she is always the second wave, never the first body in. Enter after enemy dashes are burned and the first CC chain is spent, then plant one step behind your frontline — not shoulder to shoulder, because every engage tool aimed at your tank splashes onto you too. Before fights, keep Starlium Charge ticking on the enemy frontline whenever it's free: stacks live 5 seconds, so a pre-stacked tank enters the fight already one basic away from feeding you a Siphon proc.

Hold Star Helix like a card you're scared to spend. Against flankers — Claude above all — it stays in hand until they commit behind you; it's the only tool that straightens the angle again. And when Barrage ends, respect the 40-plus seconds of cooldown: Dual Beam's speed burst is your repositioning now, so play cleanup, not another heroic plant.

Best build, emblem, and battle spell (Season 42)

The sourced consensus is the on-hit school, and it isn't close. Swift Boots → Corrosion Scythe → Demon Hunter Sword → Blade of Despair (MLBBHub). Corrosion Scythe makes the cone sticky — slows on every basic, plus an attack-speed ramp — and Demon Hunter Sword pays percent-HP on-hit damage to everything standing in the fan while feeding her sustain. Together they're the two-item spike at ~9–11 minutes where grouped frontlines stop feeling safe. Flex by lobby: Wind of Nature against physical divers, Sea Halberd into heal-and-shield fronts, Malefic Roar when two armour stackers make the cone feel cosmetic, Rose Gold Meteor when a burst mage keeps clipping her before she plants.

Two traps to refuse. First, crit: Siphon Starlium cannot critically strike, so crit gold is dead gold on her main damage engine — MLBBHub lists crit-shopping as a genuine game-loser on her. Second, Golden Staff: Fandom documents that her basics during Barrage cannot trigger its Endless Strike passive, so it underperforms in the exact window it should shine. Leave both on the shelf.

Emblem: Marksman — Swift / Weapon Master / Weakness Finder (MLBBHub; MLBB.io's thin tracked sample also runs Marksman with Weapon Master). ONE Esports swaps tier 2 to Bargain Hunter — she's item-hungry and the 5% discount is real gold. Tier 3 is not a debate: Weakness Finder's slow stacks with Corrosion Scythe until leaving the cone feels like wading through wet cement.

Spell: Flicker, and it isn't close either — it is the only reposition she owns, and it works mid-Barrage. Aegis is ONE Esports' cautious alternative into burst drafts. Purify is MLBBHub's niche pick into layered control — but know its limit: it does nothing against Suppression, which is the one thing that ends a Barrage early.

How to counter her

The cone only faces forward. Everything that beats Ixia either gets behind it, blocks what feeds it, or ends it with the one CC class it respects.

  • Measured counters: Wanwan, Hanzo and Natalia are MLBBHub's biggest measured edges; MLBB.io independently lists Wanwan and Hanzo, and adds Kadita. MLCounter's older numbers agree on the shape: Lolita 42% (190 games), Chou 44%, Claude 45%, Joy 46% — mobility and angle-breakers, every one.
  • Flank the plant: Claude's mirror image drops him behind the cone and forces cancel-or-die (MLBBHub). Any diver who enters from the side instead of the front — Suyou's whole game plan, per MLBBHub's Suyou data — deletes an immobile backline that can't turn its barrage around.
  • Lolita is a wall with paperwork: her shield eats the projectile basics that build Starlium stacks in the first place, and the numbers back it — MLCounter's worst measured matchup for Ixia, full stop.
  • Suppression is the only off-switch: Franco and Kaja end Full Barrage outright. Ordinary stuns do NOT interrupt it (Fandom) — don't waste them; walk out of the fan and let her shoot empty sand for four seconds.
  • Item answers: Dominance Ice slows her attack speed and stretches the stack cycle (MLCounter); Wind of Nature's 2 seconds of physical immunity deletes her window; Purify strips Starlium Charge stacks off you before they cash out (Fandom).
  • Timing answers: she's weakest early — gank the farm, delay the two-item spike — and in the long cooldown after Barrage. Approach the moment Star Helix is spent; it's her only peel (MLCounter).

Who she counters: front-to-back comps that must walk the cone to play the game. MLCounter has her beating Layla 58%, Brody 57%, Irithel 56% and Granger 55% — marksmen and frontlines who queue up politely in front of her and get siphoned dry for their manners.

Mistakes everyone makes

  • "Barrage as the opener": Ulting to START a fight. Everyone with a dash simply leaves, and the biggest cone in the game becomes a four-second warning sign (MLBBHub).
  • "The no-frontline pick": Locking her behind an assassin jungle and a roam that can't peel. Nobody holds the first layer, the ultimate becomes self-rooted bait, and the post-game screen calls it a marksman diff (MLBBHub's draft discussions are blunt about this one).
  • "Crit shopping": Building her like a familiar marksman because the shop is comforting. Her main damage cannot crit. Every crit item is gold spent making her worse at her one job.
  • "Flicker for fun": Burning Flicker on a lane plate dive before minute four. That spell is the emergency exit for the one moment she's least able to move — spend it early and you've told the enemy jungler exactly when you're punishable (MLBBHub).
  • "Helix as poke": Throwing Star Helix into open space for chip damage. It scrambles the wave rhythm and leaves her naked when the diver actually comes (MLBBHub).

FAQ

  • Why doesn't lifesteal gear seem to heal her basics? Because her basics cannot trigger Lifesteal at all (Fandom) — the passive IS her sustain. The Lifesteal stat still matters: Siphon's damage (and therefore its heal) scales +200 × Lifesteal, so lifesteal items feed the conversion instead of the basics.
  • Can crowd control stop Full Barrage? Only Suppression (Fandom). Stuns and slows don't interrupt it — she keeps firing. The correct answer is leaving the fan, or a Franco hook.
  • Can she move during Full Barrage? No — she's rooted for the full 4 seconds. Flicker still works mid-Barrage and is the one legal reposition; that's half of why it's non-negotiable.
  • Why no crit items? Siphon Starlium cannot critically strike (Fandom). Attack speed and on-hit effects feed the stack cycle; crit feeds nothing.
  • How do I reset her passive? Starlium Charge is a debuff that lasts 5 seconds. Purify removes it on the spot, and simply not getting hit for five seconds zeroes her count.

Final verdict

Ixia is the most honest marksman in the game. She tells you exactly what she is — a rooted, cone-shaped firing line with a heal attached — and then dares the lobby to be built wrong around her. The fresh trackers all land at 49.9–50.0% wins because most lobbies ARE built wrong: no frontline, a flanker free on the other side, a Lolita smiling in the draft. Give her the wall, the setup, and an enemy that has to walk forward, and four seconds of Barrage ends fights that were never actually close.

Play her if: your team drafts real peel and engage, you enjoy gold-lane farming toward a two-item appointment, and deleting front-to-back comps through a cone sounds like a good evening.

Skip her if: you queue into flank-heavy lobbies with no tank, you need a dash to feel safe, or your idea of a marksman is kiting backwards while shooting — she has literally never done that once.
