Alice MLBB Guide: The Orb Collector Is Dead (Season 42)
The Blood Orbs are gone, the mana bar went with them, and Alice still sits on teamfights like a throne. Her 50.9% win rate, the revamped kit, the Clock-and-Oracle build, and the anti-heal answer inside.
Why she's feared (and loved)
Minute sixteen, Lord pit, and the enemy team is chasing what they think is a dying tank-mage. Alice fires a ribbon of blood *backwards*, over her own shoulder, starts glowing — Throne of Ruin charging, control-immune, half damage shrugged off — and then she blinks. Onto the orb. Into the middle of all five of them. The throne lands: all five immobilized, her Blood Banquet ticking their max HP into her own health bar, Doom Waltz scorching the clump for triple value. The free kill stands up, full of their health, and asks what else is on the menu.
That is the revamped Alice — and the first thing to unlearn is the old one. The Blood Orb collector, who farmed minion deaths for permanent HP while her ultimate drank her own mana bar, is *gone*. Moonton fully reworked her in Patch 2.1.18 (17 September 2025, Project NEXT): no orbs, no mana-drain aura. In their place, a Crimson-stacking brawler who opens a Banquet by touching you twice and then sits on the fight like it owes her money. Fandom's rewritten lore fits: she's the Queen of Blood who took the Crown of Antalus — sacred treasure of the family that betrayed her — and wears it on her leg as a joke. She doesn't chase your team. She hosts, and leaving early is not offered.
Season 42 viability: the honest read
Patch paperwork first, because Alice attracts rumours. Patch 2.2.16 (16 September 2026): no change. I read blooing's complete roundup end to end — buffs Aulus, Argus, Aldous, Lukas, Alpha, Edith, Karina, Kaja, Cici, Kalea; nerfs Melissa, Miya, Hanabi, Yi Sun-shin, Paquito, Marcel; Sun/Odette tweaks; the Classic pass; both Brawl columns — Alice appears in none of it. Patch 2.2.16a (14 October): one small blog (prabingiri, 15 Oct) lists her among four nerfed heroes and claims Crimson Gleam's cooldown became a flat 15 seconds. That claim stands alone: Kazuki Official's walkthrough of the official note covers exactly five changes (Kalea buffed; Aulus, Hirara, Eudora, Rafaela nerfed), no Alice — and Fandom's live page still prints Gleam at 12.0→8.0s. So the 2.2.16a nerf is [UNCONFIRMED]: I play the page, not the blog. Her last documented change is the rework itself; the orb passive had died earlier, in stages (Fandom's History archive preserves the middle version), which is why the internet teaches *two* retired Alices at once.
The trackers, dated (community snapshots, not Moonton figures): - MLBBHub (Season 42, patch 2.2.16a, all ranks, last 7 days; checked 21 Oct 2026): 0.90% pick rate — the most-picked hero left in the remaining Tank queue. - MLBBDex (statistics updated 19 Oct 2026, patch 2.2.16): 50.9% win rate, 0.9% pick, 8.9% ban — EXP Lane and Jungle. - MLCounters (updated 20 Oct 2026): 50.91% win rate, 0.89% pick, 8.82% ban, #22 overall. - MLBB.io (data updated 20 Oct 2026): A tier, up from B, "Contested" — one of the most-picked EXP laners in Mythical Glory+, at ~51% there. - MLBBGuides (29 Sep 2026 snapshot): B tier, 50.59% win rate — the cooler desk; it calls its own rates directional.
The chorus: 50.6–50.9% win rate everywhere that refreshes, and an 8.8–8.9% ban rate that says drafts respect her more than the win rate does. Sentiment: no fresh r/MobileLegendsGame threads surfaced — tracker/creator material only; the creator read (LootBar): stable, quietly winning in the right composition, visibly setter-dependent.
My tier verdict: A-. The A letter, the ban respect and the Mythical Glory EXP spam are real; the minus is the draft tax — anti-heal and a missing setter tax her harder than most A-tier heroes.
The full kit: what every button does
All mechanics from the MLBB Fandom hero page, checked 21 October 2026. Base HP 2452→5000, Physical Attack 114→191, Physical Defense 25→80, Magic Defense 15→50, Movement Speed 240, basic attack range 3.0 — and no mana pool in the current stat table (neither Fandom nor MLBB.io lists one): the resource now is Crimson stacks and cooldowns. Official ratings (via MLBB.io): Offense 5, Durability 5, Control 7, Difficulty 4. Returning players: Blood Ancestry, Flowing Blood, Blood Awe and Blood Ode no longer exist. - Passive — Crimson Blood Banquet: Each skill hit on an enemy grants 1 Crimson stack (4s, max 2). At 2 stacks, Blood Banquet activates: every 0.5s it deals 25 (+30% Total Magic Power) + 0.5–2.5% of the target's Max HP (the % scales with her level) as Magic Damage to nearby enemies, and recovers 10 (+3% Extra HP) for Alice. Landing skills on enemy *heroes* refreshes its duration — creeps do not. While it's active she gains +8% Movement Speed. Banquet damage against creeps is capped at 70 (+10 per hero level). A feast that only stays open while she's touching heroes. - Skill 1 — Crimson Gleam: Alice fires blood energy forward for 100–200 (+50% Total Magic Power) Magic Damage. Before the energy dissipates, recast to trigger Scarlet Shadow — she blinks to the energy's location. Cooldown 12.0→8.0s, starting once the stream ends or she recasts; hold the button to track the sphere. Spell Vamp Ratio 50%. - Skill 2 — Doom Waltz: A spinning dance: 350–550 (+130% Total Magic Power) Magic Damage to nearby enemies and a 70% slow for 1s. Flat 4.0s cooldown. If Blood Banquet is active, the Waltz also scorches — dealing 300% of Blood Banquet's damage and healing Alice for the same amount. Her trade button and waveclear in one. - Ultimate — Throne of Ruin: Alice charges for 1.5s in a blood shroud: Control Immunity and 50% Damage Reduction, self-slowed 50%. While charging she can use only Scarlet Shadow. Then she descends: 500–700 (+150% Total Magic Power) (+20% Extra HP) Magic Damage to all enemies in range, immobilizing them for 1s. Cooldown 60/55/50s.
Skill priority, my way: Throne of Ruin at 4/8/12, Doom Waltz first (her damage, her scorch, her lane trade — LootBar's Alice advice also opens with it), Crimson Gleam second for the cooldown curve, 12.0s down to 8.0s.
Combos
- "The Ignition" (her whole trade pattern): Crimson Gleam through the target (stack one) → Doom Waltz (stack two — Banquet opens) → Waltz again every 4 seconds; each Waltz during Banquet scorches for 300% while the ticks refresh off your hero hits. Hold the Scarlet Shadow recast until the trade turns — it's your exit, not a garnish.
- "The Throne Drop" (the signature engage): fire Crimson Gleam toward — or behind — the clump → start Throne of Ruin's charge from safety (control immunity and 50% damage reduction cover the wind-up) → mid-charge, Scarlet Shadow onto the orb — Fandom is explicit that the recast is the *only* skill usable while charging → the descent immobilizes the group, and the Banquet engine does the rest. Creator guides (BitTopup) teach the same delivery.
Rotation and map control
EXP Lane is home; Jungle is the second job. MLBB.io has her spammed in EXP at Mythical Glory+; MLBBGuides builds its default set around EXP; LootBar calls EXP the more consistent home, while Jungle Alice is a tempo pick that needs Cursed Helmet and Ice Retribution to keep its clear honest.
Play to the Banquet's appetite. The feast refreshes only on hero contact, so her map pressure is fight-shaped: clear the wave, then be the second body into every Turtle and river skirmish. MLBBGuides frames her early game as one checkpoint — Clock of Destiny plus Oracle online, then hold objective fights — and LootBar lists exactly that timing as her weakness when it slips. She also wants a setter who starts the fight she then sits on (LootBar; MLCounters pairs her best with Angela and Cici). Without one, your Throne Drop is the set — orb, charge, blink — aimed at a fight already forming.
Late game, the math tilts her way — Banquet ticks scale off the *enemy's* Max HP and her ult converts her own Extra HP into damage, so long fights against fat lineups are home turf — until the enemy's anti-heal curve, the only clock that beats her, comes online.
Best build, emblem, and battle spell (Season 42)
The locked spine — MLBBGuides' default "EXP Sustain Frontline" set, and SportsDunia's revamp guide independently lists the identical six: Tough Boots → Clock of Destiny → Oracle → Glowing Wand → Concentrated Energy → Brute Force Breastplate. The logic is written into her scalings: the HP stack feeds both the Banquet heal (+3% Extra HP per tick) and Throne of Ruin's +20% Extra HP — on Alice, health *is* a damage stat. Oracle amplifies her heals; Glowing Wand is her own anti-heal for sustain mirrors. Flex: the anti-burst set (MLBBGuides) swaps in Queen's Wings, Dominance Ice and Winter Crown; the jungle set starts Cursed Helmet. Legacy warning: Demon Shoes + Enchanted Talisman builds (Zathong's current page) are Ode-era muscle memory for a mana bar the stat table no longer lists — skip them. Emblem: tracked builds (MLBB.io) run Tank — Vitality / Festival of Blood / Impure Rage (Tank in 10 of its 12 sampled builds). The guide school (MLBBGuides, LootBar) runs the Basic Common page with Impure Rage shared, Seasoned Hunter swapped in for jungle. My call: Tank default; Common when your draft already has two frontliners. Battle spell — role-split, honestly: Vengeance is MLBBGuides' default EXP spell (reflect + damage reduction inside her Banquet); Flicker leads MLBB.io's tracked builds at 45%; Retribution is non-negotiable in the jungle.
How to counter her
Two tracker desks and the creator guides agree on the shape: starve the feast, then outlast or out-burst what's left. MLCounters' measured top three (updated 20 Oct 2026): Angela, Karrie and Estes. MLBB.io's weak-against list: Floryn, Estes and Edith — Estes is the two-desk consensus, a healer whose grouped sustain out-pays her grouped drain. Karrie is the three-source answer (MLCounters, LootBar, SportsDunia): Lightwheel true damage priced off *her* Max HP is the worst sentence an HP-stacking hero can read. Baxia is the regen-specific answer (LootBar; SportsDunia): his passive cuts the healing her whole kit is priced on. The burst school — Harley, X.Borg (SportsDunia; creator summaries agree) — deletes her before Banquet value accrues, and X.Borg's true damage ignores her defenses. - Items: anti-heal is the famous tax — Sea Halberd, Glowing Wand, Dominance Ice (MLCounters' counter list; MLCounter.com and SportsDunia agree). One by mid game, two by late, and her health bar stops refilling. - Play patterns: never clump for her — SportsDunia's warning is mechanical: her AoE passive and ult grow with every target in range. Kite and disengage (LootBar lists kite teams as her structural weakness): Banquet only refreshes on hero contact, so refusing the long fight starves the feast. And punish the charge: Throne of Ruin telegraphs for 1.5s — walk out of the landing circle unless her orb is already behind you.
Who she counters is the mirror image — heroes who must walk in and stand still to work. MLCounters has her strong against Gloo, Khufra and Tigreal; LootBar adds Atlas and Grock. Engage tanks are Banquet food: grouped, in range, and every tick priced off the biggest HP pools on the map.
Mistakes everyone makes
- "The Orb Nostalgia": Playing the retired hero — pathing like orbs still drop, or worse, building the orb-era kit. Zathong's Alice page still teaches Demon Shoes and Enchanted Talisman for a mana-drain ultimate that no longer exists.
- "The Automatic Recast": Blinking on every Crimson Gleam because the button lit up. LootBar's advice is blunt: save the recast for when it changes the trade. It's her only reposition; spent on cooldown, she's a stationary drain with a 12-second problem.
- "The Starved Feast": Letting Blood Banquet lapse while farming. Minions and creeps do not refresh it (SportsDunia's rework notes) — no hero contact, no feast, no 300% Waltz scorch.
- "The Solo Throne": Descending into five alone because the ult was up. A 1-second immobilize is a team sentence, and LootBar flags her as struggling without a setter. A solo Throne is a dramatic landing, then a grey screen.
- "The Panic Diet": Buying pure defense after one death. LootBar again: she needs damage contact to heal. An Alice who stops dealing damage stops healing — the tank items come *after* the Clock-and-Oracle engine, not instead of it.
FAQ
- Are the Blood Orbs really gone? Yes. The orb passive was reworked in stages before 2025 (Fandom's History page preserves the middle version), and Patch 2.1.18 (17 Sep 2025) replaced every skill. Any guide teaching orb thresholds, Blood Awe or Blood Ode is teaching a deleted hero.
- Did Season 42 change her? Patch 2.2.16: no — she appears nowhere in the full roundup. A claimed 2.2.16a nerf (one blog: Gleam cooldown to a flat 15s) is [UNCONFIRMED] — absent from the official-note walkthroughs, and Fandom's live page still prints 12.0→8.0s.
- EXP Lane or Jungle? EXP is the default (MLBB.io; MLBBGuides builds around it). Jungle works as a tempo pick with Cursed Helmet and Ice Retribution (LootBar).
- Why doesn't she run out of mana anymore? There's nothing to run out of — neither Fandom nor MLBB.io lists a mana pool in her current stat table. Her resources are Crimson stacks, hero contact and cooldowns.
- What actually kills her? Anti-heal (Sea Halberd, Glowing Wand, Dominance Ice), true and %HP damage (Karrie, X.Borg), Baxia's regen cut, and teams that kite instead of clumping. Kill the feast's income and she's a 5,000-HP hero with a 60-second ult.
Final verdict
Alice in Season 42 is a rework that understood the assignment: the orb collector's promise — *survive the early game and become unkillable* — kept, but rebuilt as something you do with your hands instead of your pathing. Two skill hits open a feast that pays her for every fat health bar in range; the throne turns a telegraphed slam into a teleporting one; the trackers hold her at 50.6–50.9% with an A letter. She's not a solo-carry and she's not anti-heal-proof. She's a host. Draft her a room full of guests and a friend to lock the door, and the feast runs all game.
Play her if: you play EXP or jungle, your team has a setter (or grouped-fight damage she can follow), the enemy draft is walk-in tanks and long-fight comps, and you'll respect the Clock-plus-Oracle checkpoint before demanding miracles.
Skip her if: the enemy shows Karrie, Baxia or early double anti-heal, your team is all poke with nobody who starts the fight she needs to sit on, or you came here for the orb collector — she's gone, and honestly? The queen who replaced her is better company.
