Odette MLBB Guide: The Song That Walks (Season 42)

A 49.4% win rate on the mage whose ultimate used to nail her to the floor — now she sings while she walks. Odette, honestly: the walking aura, the root that sets it up, and the one kick that ends it.

Why she's feared (and loved)

Lord pit, minute thirteen, and their Tigreal lands the engage he's been holding all game — four of my teammates stacked in a neat little pile for him. Except the pile is the plan. My Blue Nova already has their frontline immobilized, and I press Swan Song from the pit wall. Five seconds of song start ticking over everyone at once — and here's the part that still looks wrong if you learned Odette before September: I don't stand there like a statue. I drift. Slowly, at sixty percent speed, following the fight toward their marksman, the aura refusing to let go.

That is Odette, the Swan Princess of Swan Castle — the heiress who left home chasing Lancelot, per Fandom's story, and brought a scepter instead of a suitcase. Feared, because a full Swan Song channel over a clustered team is 3,000 base damage wearing a ballgown. Loved, because she is the most honest mage in the game: no dash, no trick, just a root, a song, and five seconds where the enemy has to make a decision. The catch: the song only pays if somebody holds the audience still, and one good kick still ends the concert early.

Season 42 viability: the honest read

Patch paperwork first, and hers is the most interesting line in 2.2.16. Patch 2.2.16 (16 Sep 2026) gave Odette an ADJUST, per Fandom's official patch notes, read directly: Swan Song's second cast — the leap she used to reposition mid-song — is removed; instead, she can now move freely at slightly reduced speed while the ultimate runs, and the old bonus that sped up her passive's bounce during the song is gone too. Blooing's roundup confirms it in one line ("her Ultimate's second cast is gone, but she can now move freely, a bit slower, while it's active"). The hero page already prints the new kit — free movement at 40% slower Movement Speed — so page and patch agree; nothing here is stale. Patch 2.2.16a (14 Oct 2026) has no Fandom page; its documented list (Kalea buff; Aulus, Hirara, Eudora, Rafaela nerfs) has no Odette — any contrary claim is [UNCONFIRMED], and none surfaced. Previous touch: Patch 2.1.61 (HP/MS up, S1/S2 mana down, ult shield and damage trimmed — MLBBHub).

The trackers, dated (community snapshots, not Moonton data): - MLBBHub statistics (Season 42 / patch 2.2.16a, all ranks, last 7 days; checked 21 Oct 2026): B tier, #80 of 133 — 49.39% win rate, 0.59% pick, 0.32% ban; her hero page (49.4% / 0.6% / 0.3%) rates her Easy. - MLBBDex (tier list, patch 2.2.16; updated 19 Oct 2026): B tier, Mid Lane — 49.5% win rate, 0.6% pick, 0.3% ban. - MLBB.io (hero statistics, October 2026): 49.50% win rate, 0.58% pick, 0.30% ban — Mid Lane. - MLCounter.com (older page; headline 52.49% is recycled): matchup direction only — weak vs Guinevere, Chou, Kagura, Fanny, Franco; strong vs Cyclops, Miya, Layla, Irithel, Kimmy.

The chorus: 49.4–49.5% win rate on a 0.59% pick rate — the desks agree she's a hair under average, and on why: the draft, not the hands. Sentiment: no fresh r/MobileLegendsGame Odette threads surfaced — tracker/creator material only; MLBBHub's thesis: if you cannot name two heroes in your lineup who can extend a fight long enough for Swan Song to run most of its duration, Odette is the wrong pick.

My tier verdict: B-. B paperwork on every live desk, a sub-50 chorus — and a real, patch-bought ceiling: the walking song fixed her oldest flaw, being rooted where she pressed the button. The minus is the guest list. The interrupt still exists, and now it has five seconds of strolling target to aim at.

The full kit: what every button does

All mechanics from the MLBB Fandom hero page, checked 21 October 2026. Base HP 2440→4890, Mana 500→1900, Physical Defense 18→74, Magic Defense 15→50, Movement Speed 250, basic attack range 4.7. Specialty: Burst/Poke (MLCounter). Difficulty: Easy (MLBBHub). - Passive — Lakeshore Ambience: After each skill cast, her next Basic Attack or skill fires a sound wave that rebounds between her and nearby enemies, each bounce dealing 144–200 (+50% Total Magic Power) Magic Damage. It counts as a Magic Basic Attack — triggers attack effects and Magic Lifesteal. Free damage stapled to every button she owns; casting a skill without following it up throws value away (MLBBHub). - Skill 1 — Avian Authority: She summons a swan that strikes the target area for 300–550 (+150% Total Magic Power) Magic Damage and slows enemies hit by 30% for 2 seconds. Cooldown 6.0→5.0s, mana 90–140. Her poke, her wave clear, and the softener that walks people into Blue Nova's line. - Skill 2 — Blue Nova: A set of energy balls flies forward; the first enemy hit takes 250–400 (+50% Total Magic Power) and is immobilized for 1.5 seconds — then a second ball spawns and hunts a nearby enemy, prioritizing heroes, for the same damage and immobilize. Cooldown 12.0→10.0s, mana 90–115. Aim it at the frontliner; the split ball finds the backline (MLBBHub). - Ultimate — Swan Song: She channels for 5 seconds behind a 1200–1800 (+150% Total Magic Power) shield, dealing 2000–3000 (+750% Total Magic Power) total Magic Damage inside a 5.5-unit radius — paid out as 200/250/300 (+75% Total Magic Power) every 0.5 seconds. Since 2.2.16 she moves freely during the channel at 40% reduced Movement Speed, cannot cast other skills, and recasting only cancels early (the leap is gone). Battle spells and item actives still work mid-song (Fandom). The channel dies only to high-level control — Suppression, Airborne, Transform, Frozen, Petrify; ordinary stuns and slows don't stop it. Yin's My Turn cancels it on entry and exit. Cooldown 50/45/40s, mana 160–220.

Skill priority, my way: Blue Nova at level 1 — the immobilize plus a passive bounce is her strongest level-1 trade and sets up your jungler (MLBBHub) — then Avian Authority maxed first for wave clear and poke, Swan Song at 4/8/12, Blue Nova last: you take it for the root, not the scaling.

Combos

  • "Root, Then Sing" (the signature): Avian Authority's slow → Blue Nova immobilize → Swan Song, then drift with the fight (MLBBHub). Reverse the order and they walk out of the radius.
  • "The Drive-By" (JohnDette): Johnson picks her up and drives the pair into the enemy formation; she starts Swan Song as the car arrives — the oldest party trick in the game (DuniaGames still introduces her by it). The 2.2.16 walk strengthens the landing: the song keeps strolling with the fight instead of expiring where the car stopped.
  • "The Brush Recital": channel from fog or the pit wall, not open ground — and if the fight slides, steer with small drifts to keep the cluster inside the radius instead of chasing the backline (MLBBHub).

Rotation and map control

Mid lane is the desk — every source here files her there. The lane habit is a rhythm: every cast is followed by a basic attack or another skill, because Lakeshore Ambience pays a bounce on the next one either way (MLBBHub). Hold Blue Nova for heroes and ganks, not wave clear — its early cooldown is your only hard answer, and if the enemy jungler arrives two seconds after you spent it on a minion, you have no reply (MLBBHub).

She does not set the map's tempo; she punishes the fights the map forces. Rotate toward chokepoints — Lord pit mouth, tower funnels, jungle corridors — with a wall covering one of her sides (MLBBHub). Before any fight, do the interrupt audit: if you cannot point at their Chou, Saber or Franco on the minimap, you are not ready to sing (MLBBHub). After the spike, her job flips: stand where the next objective fight must happen and make them walk into the radius.

Best build, emblem, and battle spell (Season 42)

The locked core (MLBBHub): Arcane Boots → Clock of Destiny → Holy Crystal. Clock of Destiny is the spine twice over: mana backbone, and — because it stacks hybrid defense as she deals magic damage to heroes, up to six stacks — a full channel into a cluster maxes the defense mid-dance; its low-HP recovery doubles as mid-song sustain. Holy Crystal is the percentage amplifier. Spike: Clock of Destiny + Holy Crystal, ~minutes 9–12 (MLBBHub). Slot 4: Lightning Truncheon standard (its Resonate proc fits her poke rhythm); Glowing Wand replaces it against healer supports and sustain tanks — Scorch burns through every ult tick, Lifebane cuts their healing (MLBBHub; Zathong's late-game core agrees on the spine). Slot 5: Divine Glaive vs stacked magic resistance. Slot 6: Winter Crown — its active does not cancel Swan Song, so she pops it mid-channel and lets the burst pass through while the song ticks on (MLBBHub); Blood Wings only in games where nobody can reach her. Emblem: Mage — Inspire / Bargain Hunter / Lethal Ignition (MLBBHub): a multi-hit kit — bouncing passive, ten ult ticks — gives Lethal Ignition constant chances to fire. Battle spell — a real split, refereed: Flicker is the standard (MLBBHub's FAQ; Zathong; ONE Esports) — battle spells work during the channel (Fandom), so Flicker is a mid-song reposition or a clean exit. MLBBHub is blunt that in solo queue without peel, Purify is the honest pick: it answers exactly one airborne, though never suppression. My call: Flicker with a coordinated frontline, Purify when you're alone with a Chou-shaped problem.

How to counter her

MLBBHub's measured podium: Nana, Vale and Alpha hold the biggest measured edges over her. Its draft warnings are blunter: Chou, Guinevere, Saber, Kadita and Franco each carry an airborne or a suppression that cancels Swan Song on sight — and suppression (Saber, Franco) is a hard stop no spell answers. MLCounter's chart independently leads with the same names: Guinevere, Chou, Kagura, Fanny, Franco. - Cancel the concert, don't out-damage it. Only high-level control interrupts the channel (Fandom) — airborne, suppression, freeze, transform, petrify. Draft one, hold it, spend it the moment the song starts; burst alone has to chew through a 1200–1800 shield first. - Items: magic defense — Athena's Shield and Radiant Armor (MLCounter) blunt the aura; Winter Crown lets a carry decline the channel window the same way she uses it. - Play patterns: never cluster in a chokepoint against her — the aura pays per body inside it; scatter out of the 5.5-unit radius (her slow drift can't follow a committed exit); Purify answers her Blue Nova root (MLCounter); dive her *before* Clock of Destiny completes. Who she counters is the mirror image: comps that must group and walk forward. MLCounter files Cyclops, Miya, Layla, Irithel and Kimmy as weak into her — immobile damage dealers who eat the root and the full five seconds. MLBBHub's lock conditions agree: melee-heavy teams that cluster on their own engage — Tigreal piles, Franco hook follow-ups, Johnson crash comps, Hylos frontlines — are the audiences she was built for.

Mistakes everyone makes

  • "Song Before the Root": Pressing Swan Song before Blue Nova (or a teammate's engage) has landed (MLBBHub). The ult holds nobody by itself; uncommitted enemies walk out before the second tick — a 50-second cooldown spent on a light show.
  • "The Open-Air Recital": Channelling in open terrain (MLBBHub). The enemy fans out in two directions, your slow drift can shadow one, and most of the song lands on whoever politely stood still. Chokepoints or nothing.
  • "Chasing with the Channel": Spending the whole song strolling after a retreating backline (MLBBHub). Every step forward is a step into interrupt range, the walk is slower than every gap-closer in the game, and you arrive with the shield chewed through. Drift to keep the cluster inside; never dive with it.
  • "Flicker as a Luxury": Taking Flicker into a solo-queue game with no peel because a guide said so (MLBBHub). One Chou kick cancels the ult and the Odette in the same rotation. Purify exists; use it when the draft says so.
  • "The Crown in the Pocket": Saving Winter Crown for an emergency that has already happened (MLBBHub). Press it when the burst combo *starts* toward you mid-song — early is immunity through the combo, late is a death screen with an unused active.

FAQ

  • What did Patch 2.2.16 actually change for Odette? One trade, per Fandom's patch notes (blooing confirms): Swan Song lost its second-cast leap and its passive-bounce enhancement; in exchange she now moves freely at slightly reduced speed during the channel — the hero page prints it as 40% slower Movement Speed. The song walks now; it no longer teleports.
  • Can ordinary CC cancel Swan Song? No. Fandom reserves the interrupt for high-level control — Suppression, Airborne, Transform, Frozen, Petrify. Burst can still kill her through the shield, and Yin's My Turn cancels outright.
  • Flicker or Purify? Flicker is the desk standard (MLBBHub, Zathong, ONE Esports) and works mid-channel. Purify is MLBBHub's solo-queue answer when one airborne ends you — it answers exactly one, and nothing answers suppression.
  • Does Winter Crown cancel her ultimate? No — its immunity protects skills already cast (MLBBHub), which is why it's her sixth slot: pop it when the assassin's combo starts and let more ticks land while the burst passes through.
  • Why Clock of Destiny first on a burst mage? Because post-2.1.61 she isn't one. Its in-combat defense stacks max out during a single clustered channel, its mana ends her casting ration, and its low-HP recovery is mid-song sustain (MLBBHub). The spike is the pair, ~minutes 9–12.

Final verdict

Odette in Season 42 is a B-tier song with an S-tier room. The numbers don't move — 49.4–49.5% on every desk, a 0.32% ban rate, untouched by 2.2.16a — but 2.2.16 quietly fixed the thing that made her a statue: the aura now walks and follows a sliding fight for five full seconds behind a scaling shield. She is still not a hero you blind-pick. She is a hero you draft *into* something: a clustering enemy, a frontline that holds them there, an interrupt list you can count on one hand. Get those three and the Swan Princess is the loudest five seconds in the game.

Play her if: the enemy is melee-heavy and clusters on its own engages (Tigreal, Franco, Hylos, Johnson comps), your team brings two sources of peel or first CC, and the fight map is chokepoints — Lord pit, tower funnels, jungle corridors.

Skip her if: Chou, Guinevere, Saber, Kadita or Franco are showing — suppression especially — or your team plays split and scattered while you wait for a concert nobody attends. Take Cyclops and bring a loop that doesn't need an audience. Odette doesn't win lanes. She ends *arguments*, five seconds at a time, in a radius nobody should have stood in.
