Smashing Four · By Aliens · Image source
Imagine pool, but the balls are angry little heroes with axes, and your opponent is a real human being who absolutely meant to do that. Smashing Four is turn-based 1v1 PvP with a physics twist: each turn you drag and launch one of your four heroes across the arena, bouncing them off walls, obstacles, and — ideally — the enemy team. Every hero has its own ability, so matches become this chess-like game of angles: do you go for the direct smash, or bank your goblin off two walls to trigger its ability on three enemies at once? The "one more match" pull is violent. The meta-game is card-collectible: win battles, earn orbs and coins, collect hero cards, upgrade your squad, climb through the arenas, join a clan. It's a genuinely original combat core with a familiar progression loop — 10M+ downloads and a 4.1-star average across nearly 300K ratings says the formula works. Honest part, as always: progression slows down hard at high levels (upgrading gets expensive — free players feel it), some players report connection drops mid-match, and the game changed owners (Geewa → By Aliens), so the new team is still earning the community's trust. The bones are excellent; the live-ops are a work in progress.
The good stuff
A genuinely original combat core — flick-your-hero physics PvP that plays like pool with superpowers. Real 1v1 against real humans — no bots, no fake multiplayer, every win earned. Deep team building — dozens of heroes with unique abilities, endless deck combinations to theorycraft. Clans, challenges, and ranked seasons — plenty to grind beyond the arena.
Your first few moves
- Learn bank shots early — bouncing heroes off walls to hit multiple enemies is where the damage lives.
- Build your team around abilities that combo, not just your four favorite faces.
- Don't blow all your gold on the first upgrades that look shiny — costs spike hard at higher levels.
Before you jump in
Free on Android and iOS with in-app purchases (coins, hero cards, orbs). A network connection is required — it's real-time PvP. Progression is smooth early but slows noticeably at high hero levels; patient free players do fine, impatient ones meet the shop.
PvP players who want something fresher than another auto-battler, and anyone who ever got unreasonably competitive at pool. Not for you if you need offline play or hate upgrade grinds.
