Tigreal MLBB Guide: The Original Five-Man Set (Season 42)

Tigreal skipped Season 42's patch notes and sits at 45% win rate with a 6.5% ban rate — everyone fears the Flicker-Implosion set. Combos, builds, counters.

Minute sixteen, Lord pit, and the enemy team makes the oldest mistake in Mobile Legends: all five of them stand in the same postcode around the same objective. I'm invisible in the river bush on Conceal, watching their mage and marksman overlap like they've never heard my name. Implosion starts winding up — and mid-channel, I Flicker forward. The pull relocates with me. Five heroes land in a pile at my feet, stunned for two full seconds, and my team deletes the fight before anyone's Purify finger wakes up.

That's Tigreal. Welcome in. He's the Warrior of Dawn, the original set-up tank — whose ultimate has been ending teamfights for a decade. Season 42 hasn't touched him; the trackers bury him near 45%… and yet he eats a ban in roughly one game out of fifteen. Nobody bans a weak hero. They ban the memory of that Lord pit.

Why he's feared (and loved)

Fear first: Implosion is the game's original wombo button — a channeled area pull that drags everyone nearby into a 2-second stun, and it pulls *through walls*. Sacred Hammer is a delivery service — charge, shove, knock-up. Tigreal doesn't start fights where the enemy stands; he starts them where he *decides* they stand.

Love second: he's the cheapest, simplest, most honest tank in the game — Easy difficulty, and still cashing MPL checks (RRQ, MPL Indonesia, August 2026 — MLBBHub pro snapshot). Fandom's own trivia page mocks him for it: his voice line is "A real man never hides in a bush" — from a hero whose entire career is hiding in bushes. A knight with one trick, and the trick is a war crime. Of course he's beloved.

Season 42 viability: the honest read

Paperwork first — this is where guides lie to you.

Patch 2.2.16 (released 16 September 2026): Tigreal is not on the general adjustment list. I checked the full verified list — Masha and Bruno revamps plus the adjustment packages (buffs Kalea, Cici, Alpha, Kagura, Edith, Karina, Kaja; nerfs Melissa, Miya, Hanabi, Yi Sun-shin, Paquito, Kadita; Aulus, Argus, Aldous, Lukas, Odette, Sun, Marcel besides) — and his name appears nowhere in it. One footnote from community trackers (Liquipedia, via EliteDias): inside the Mythical Honor battlefield mode only, his Sacred Hammer cooldown was shortened (16→13 down to 13→10) — a mode rule, not a ranked change; Fandom's standard table still reads 12.5–10. His last real touch was Season 41's 2.1.88, which traded late-game bulk for early durability (MLBBHub).

Patch 2.2.16a (14 October 2026): The documented changes are a Kalea buff and nerfs to Aulus, Hirara, Eudora and Rafaela. No Tigreal — and with no official Fandom page for the sub-patch, any "secret Tigreal tweak" claim stays [UNCONFIRMED].

The trackers, dated (community snapshots, not Moonton figures): - MLBBHub (refreshed daily, checked 20 Oct 2026): 44.9% WR, 2.0% pick, 6.3% ban, Easy difficulty; builds page: D tier (last 7 days). - MLCounters (updated 20 Oct 2026): 44.99% WR, 1.99% pick, 6.93% ban, #52 overall. - MLBBDex (tier list updated 19 Oct 2026): C tier, 44.9% WR, 6.7% ban — "constant and readable value; ceiling limited by the predictability of the commitment." - EliteDias (mid-Oct 2026): C among Tanks on its role list. Pocket Gamer (Oct 2026): S+ among Tanks — the table's eternal romantic. MLCounter.com's "A tier" badge rides on a months-old 44.08% snapshot — ignore the letter; the number agrees with everyone.

So the chorus sings 44.9–45.0% and the argument is D vs C vs S+. Sentiment: no fresh r/MobileLegendsGame Tigreal threads surfaced this season, so this is labelled tracker/creator material: MLBBHub's long-running defence is that his win rate reflects misuse, not weakness — players ult into one target, get CC'd out of the channel, or build wrong — and the ~6.5% ban rate says draft screens believe them. My tier verdict: C+. A D-tier spreadsheet hero carrying the game's most feared single button. Drafted into grouped, immobile backlines with burst behind him, he's an A-tier answer wearing a C-tier win rate. The plus is for the button, not the stats.

The full kit: what every button does

All mechanics from the MLBB Fandom hero page, checked 20 October 2026. Base HP 2581→6879, Physical Attack 112→207, mana 500.

  • Passive — Fearless: Tigreal gains a stack each time he casts a skill or is hit by a Basic Attack. At 4 stacks, he consumes them all to block the next incoming Basic Attack — including turret shots. Minion attacks don't count, and stacks fall off after ~6 seconds unrefreshed. *Practical note: stack it on the wave before a dive and your first tower hit is free (MLBBHub).*
  • Skill 1 — Attack Wave: Sends a shockwave that erupts 3 times in a fan-shaped area, each eruption dealing 270 (+70% Total Physical Attack) Physical Damage at level 1 and slowing enemies by 20%/40%/60% (by eruption) for 1.5 seconds. Cooldown 7.0→4.0 seconds, mana 45. *Practical note: not a poke trophy — it's the slow that closes the exit after you've claimed space (MLBBHub).*
  • Skill 2 — Sacred Hammer: Charges in a direction, dealing (+100% Total Physical Attack) Physical Damage and pushing enemies to the end of the charge. Recast within 4 seconds: 280–380 (+60% Total Physical Attack) to enemies in front of him, knocking them airborne for 1 second. Cooldown 12.5→10.0 seconds, mana 70 — the cooldown starts on the *first* cast, and he can Flicker during the skill (Fandom). *Practical note: the push direction is the skill — carries toward your team, divers away from your carry.*
  • Ultimate — Implosion: Channels, then stuns and pulls all nearby enemies to him for 2 seconds, dealing 600–1000 (+130% Total Physical Attack) Physical Damage. Cooldown 45/41/37 seconds, mana 120–160. Three steps (delay → pull → stun); the interrupt rules are the counterplay: the first half of the channel can be interrupted by control effects; the second half only by Suppression. He can Flicker mid-channel (that's the montage), and the pull works through obstacles. *Practical note: a cancelled channel still burns the cooldown — 45 seconds of being a large man with a hammer.*

Skill priority, my way: ultimate whenever offered, Sacred Hammer first (the engage; its cooldown shrinks to 10s), Attack Wave second. Take Sacred Hammer at level 1 — the push decides the first skirmish.

Combos

  • "The Montage" (the classic): Conceal from fog → start Implosion → Flicker mid-channel to relocate the pull onto the grouped backline → Sacred Hammer recast to shove the survivors toward your team → Attack Wave to slow the escape. This is the play the ban rate is afraid of.
  • "The Delivery" (no Flicker needed): Sacred Hammer charge through the enemy carry, pushing them toward your team or under your turret → recast for the 1-second airborne → Attack Wave → basics. Delivery collected.
  • "The Bouncer" (peel version): When their assassin dives your marksman, Sacred Hammer them *diagonally* away from your carry (MLBBHub's tip: the diagonal keeps them in your mage's damage cone), recast knock-up, and body-block.

Rotation and map control

Level 1 belongs to positioning, not the buff's centre: take Sacred Hammer, stand on the side of the wave or jungle entrance that lets you shove a target *toward* your team. Touch the mid wave once, then leave immediately — your first clear buys mid priority, not experience; help your mage claim space, then move to the brush threatening the enemy jungler's second camp. Save Flicker unless the cast wins a crab, a buff reset, or first blood — before the first Turtle, the *threat* of Flicker is worth more than most plays it could buy.

The spike: Tough Boots with Conceal unlocked + Dominance Ice, roughly 7–9 minutes (MLBBHub). Before it, you're honest — everyone sees the walk-up. After it, you enter through fog while your aura cuts the backline's shields and regen for the trade after the set. Mid/late game: flank from side brushes, never the centre line; open fights closer to their carries than their tank; stop hunting the five-man — two priority targets caught cleanly win more games than a desperate swing at all five. After the pull, push the fight *toward your team* with the Sacred Hammer recast, then re-centre.

Best build, emblem, and battle spell (Season 42)

Battle spell: Flicker — and this one is not a debate. Every source (MLBBHub, Zathong, the Fandom community guide) runs it, because walking-up Implosion is a telegraphed prayer and Flicker-Implosion is a highlight. Roam blessing: Conceal — the invisible entry is half the combo.

The locked slots (MLBBHub): roam boots + Dominance Ice. Tough Boots default into control-heavy drafts (shorter CC on you = your channel survives), Warrior Boots vs basic-attack physical comps, Rapid Boots for snowball vision games. Dominance Ice's Lifebane aura (nearby enemy shield/regen cut) makes it correct in nearly every lobby. Core (MLBBHub's FAQ build): Dominance Ice → Fleeting Time (ult cooldown is your real resource — every refund is another set) → Athena's Shield (survive the burst mage's first spell cycle). Flex, by who actually kills you: - Antique Cuirass — vs physical skill damage (Paquito, Yu Zhong, Hayabusa); Deter stacks while they soften you. - Radiant Armor — vs sustained magic zones (Valir, Chang'e, Yve) instead of single bursts. - Blade Armor — vs basic-attack carries (Karrie, Claude, Moskov, Miya) who must hit you to reach your team. - Oracle — when your own sustain (Estes, Rafaela, Angela, Floryn) covers your re-entry. - Immortality — last, when one Lord fight decides the game. Thunder Belt is the greedy snowball option, not a default (MLBBHub).

Emblem: the Tank-vs-Support argument, settled by lobby. MLBBHub's current recommendation is Support — Agility, Pull Yourself Together (Flicker back sooner — the cooldown that runs your life), Focusing Mark (amplified damage on your catches). The classic school (Zathong-era builds) runs Tank — Vitality, Tenacity, Concussive Blast. My take: Support when your team has burst to cash the set in; Tank when you're the only frontline and the entry itself is the risk.

How to counter him

Two trackers, one shopping list. Alice is the consensus #1: MLBBHub's measured counter page and MLCounters (updated 20 Oct 2026) both put her first — she out-sustains his window and never stands where he wants. MLBBHub adds X.Borg and Zetian; MLCounters adds Diggie and Balmond. The kit answers matter more than the names: Diggie is the draft veto — Time Journey's cleanse deletes the engage unless it's been baited out. Kaja and Chou counter-initiate and can remove Tigreal before the combo finishes; Hilda ruins his early map (faster rotations, harder level 1). Interrupt the channel: the first half of Implosion dies to any control effect — Eudora and Nana are named by MLCounter's guide because their stuns cancel the cast and burn the cooldown. Long-range poke with CC (Valir, Melissa, Moskov, Nana — MLCounter) keeps him too chipped to start the channel comfortably.

Items (MLCounter): percentage-HP damage (Demon Hunter Sword, Wishing Lantern) and penetration (Malefic Roar, Divine Glaive) to melt the armor game; Purify answers the stun chain. Play patterns: (1) Never stack at chokes or the Lord pit while his Flicker is up — make him choose one target. (2) Track Flicker + Implosion like a bounty: both spent means ~45 seconds where he's a slow man with a slow hammer. (3) Hold one cheap CC purely for the channel's first half. (4) Don't chase him under his own turret — Fearless blocks a turret shot and Sacred Hammer delivers *you* to the tower.

Mistakes everyone makes

All five of these are MLBBHub's Tigreal autopsy list, because they're all true: - "Engaging from Visible Ground": If the enemy watched you walk in for three seconds, the combo is already half-dead. Tigreal without fog is a warning sign, not a threat. - "The Minute-Two Flicker": Spending Flicker on a random mid skirmish hands the enemy the first Turtle fight for free. Flicker is what makes the combo unavoidable — don't spend it making it avoidable. - "Charging the Tank": Sacred Hammering whoever is nearest feels active and accomplishes nothing. Unless you're peeling, your engage is aimed at damage dealers. - "The Diggie Delusion": Locking Tigreal into an un-baited Diggie and insisting mechanics will solve it. Bait Time Journey first, catch Diggie himself, or accept the first commit as a sacrificial trade. - "The Victory Lap": Landing the set, seeing them chunked, and walking deeper. Your job after the pull is to collapse the fight toward *your* team and reset — the extra steps forward are where winning engages go to die.

FAQ

  • Can Implosion really be interrupted? Yes — the first half of the channel dies to any control effect (and still goes on cooldown). Once he's past halfway, only Suppression (Franco, Kaja) stops it. That's why the Flicker version is feared — it shrinks your reaction window.
  • Is Flicker actually mandatory? On every tracked build, yes. Without it, Implosion is a stationary channel teams walk out of or interrupt — Flicker mid-channel relocates the pull onto targets who thought they were safe.
  • Why is he banned ~6.5% of the time with a 45% win rate? Because bans respect the ceiling and win rates record the average. The set that ends a Lord fight is ban-worthy; the average player's whiffed one-man Implosion is what the 44.9% is made of (MLBBHub's misuse thesis).
  • Support emblem or Tank emblem? MLBBHub's current answer is Support (Agility / Pull Yourself Together / Focusing Mark) — Flicker uptime and amplified follow-up. Tank (Vitality / Tenacity / Concussive Blast) is the older, bulkier school. Pick by whether your problem is landing the set or surviving it.
  • Roam only? Roam is the tracked home on every source; everything the kit wants — fog, rotations, grouped enemies — lives there.
  • Is he good for beginners? Genuinely yes — Easy difficulty everywhere, and his combos are two buttons and a Flicker. The skill is patience: bushes, cooldown tracking, and not pressing the big button just because it glows.

Final verdict

Tigreal in Season 42 is a 45%-win-rate knight with one of the most feared buttons in Mobile Legends. The trackers can't decide if he's C or D, Pocket Gamer calls him S+ among tanks, and all of them are describing the same hero from different ends of an Implosion. He doesn't win the draft sheet. He wins the one fight at the Lord pit that the whole game was quietly about.

Play him if: your team has instant AoE burst to cash a 2-second stun, the enemy backline has to stand still to deal damage, and you can sit in a bush doing nothing — patiently, professionally — until the game hands you five people in a pile.

Skip him if: the enemy drafted Diggie, layered cleanses and disengage, or your team's damage needs six seconds of free-hitting to matter. Tigreal buys a window, not a whole fight — and a Tigreal whose window nobody climbs through is just a knight watching his highlight happen to someone else.
